Data Entry Clerk

Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Data Entry Clerk’s primary responsibility is to collect data, review it for accuracy, and enter it into a database. This person is a critical team member for an important database implementation project. We’re looking for a data-driven guru who has an exceptional eye for detail, is computer savvy, has fast and accurate typing/10-key skills and has a talent for organization. This role is expected to last up to 1 year maximum.

Job Title: Temporary Data Entry Clerk – Intermediate level
Role: Administrative Support                      
Supervisor: Director of Operations
FLSA: Non-Exempt

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Enter and edit financial, contacts, and other confidential information in the Deltek database system.
  2. Learn the details/operation of the custom database tools, effectively and efficiently use them, including import and export utilities.
  3. Detect and resolve data errors.
  4. Select, transcribe, and update existing data.
  5. Verify data by comparing it to source documents, as well through researching external sources.
  6. Communicate effectively within the database implementation team.
  7. Export and import data from the database or electronic files as requested.
  8. Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years of clerical or data entry experience.
  • Proven experience as a Data Entry Clerk.
  • Experience handling multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously.
  • Basic to intermediate experience working in databases.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong research skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and double checking work to minimize errors required.
  • Typing speed of at least 60 WPM.
  • Strong 10 Key, alpha and numeric skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality internally / externally.
  • Ability to stay focused on highly detailed work.
  • Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft (Excel, Word, databases)
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and detail orientation skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, performing work on a computer.
  • Ability to lift 20-30 lbs. on a regular basis.
